The Acapellaboratory Singing Gang
Starting in 2006, and based in the east side of Vancouver, The Acapellaboratory (the Lab for short) is about 50-60 singers. Families are welcome. Practices are held currently at Holy Cross Japanese Anglican Church 4580 Walden St.-one block East of Main and 30th, on Wednesday evenings.
Register for a session and learn songs, finding rhythm and harmony together and learning some singing technique.
We sing “songs for living”, that help people get through hard times, songs that celebrate, songs that enliven and express life’s depth and breadth. The songs are rooted in many traditions, many languages, and also include current songs that further the goal of the Ubuntu Choir Network, of “re-enchanting the world”.
Each session culminates in a concert (or “UnConcert” as we call it) where the choir shares it’s learning and the audience gets to sing too!
We also sing wherever we are invited. We have sung at care facilities, rallies and other ceremonies and community events
The Choral Conspiracy
Meeting at The Saint James Community Square, the Choral Conspiracy has existed since 2012, as a sister choir to the Acapellaboratory, located on Vancouver’s west side.
Similar in purpose and style to the Acapellaboratory, this group meets on Tuesday evenings.
All Voices Vancouver
Wanna sing in the daytime? Have a break from your regular routine, and come raise your voices with us in the lovely Olympic Village at 151 Athletes Way. We are currently a small and friendly group and accepting singers age 10 to 100, no experience necessary.
The NEW New West Choir
The newest choir, the New Westminster Community Choir started in 2017 in the St. Barnabas Church Hall. This no barrier choir is open to all who want to sing and like All Voices this choir offers a daytime option. Everyone is welcome.
